HI.
I started the day working on some recipe cards for my Granddaughter Gabby. She sent me the recipes she wanted viva text message. I had to type them up from the screen of my iPhone, ugh! I do love when the grandkids ask me to create for them though. I'm not allowed to buy them a card, for any occasion.  So I went to work and they turned out very nice. Gabby has a whole book of Grandmas favorite recipes and now she is adding some of her own, with my help.
Then I started work on a card for the Impression Obsession Hello Sunshine challenge.
I used stamp set 3027-LG Daisy Today. This is one of my very favorite stamps, I have use it over and over for cards and I've even used it a couple of time in my scrapbooks. I started with some watercolor paper and stamped the Daisies with Ranger Archival black ink, then colored them in using Stamp-n-up watercolor crayons. I used  Ranger (Peeled Paint) distress ink for shading the background. I stamped a diamond and flourish in the background using the same color after stamping it off first. The papers are from Color Mates ( world wind). I'm not sure if the stamps in the background are IO stamps they were un-mounted very old stamps from my stash, I use them all the time on my cards and on my journal pages, I used them this time out of habit. I'm new at the challenge thing so if I messed up so be it.

Have a wonderfully crafty Day!!

My First Blog

Hello out there in blog land,

This is my very first blog ever and I'm so excited to be doing it.
In case you didn't read my profile, I'm a scrapbooker since 1998, then a few years later I started using stamps on my pages which ultimately put me on the path to card making. I worked for a good friend in her scrapbooking store, where I taught scrapbooking classes and then started a card making club. where I taught new techniques to beginners. Unfortunately the store closed and my wonderful friend has passed  but I still manage to make as many cards and scrapbook pages as I can. I'm also into Art Journaling and find it very relaxing.

I got a bunch of new stamps this week and one of them was Penny Black (Spring Beauty) a lovely bunch of Tulips. I needed a card for my son and his wife, Michael and Kari, for their wedding anniversary and this seemed a likely choice. So here it is.

I used watercolor pencils for the flowers and then I used Ranger distress ink( Mustard Seed) by Tim Holtz to watercolor the background and (Peeled Paint) distress ink around the edges. I used a spellbinders (Elegant Ovals and ribbon banner) dies to cut out.  I lightly stamped a basket weave background using Ranger Archival ink (Pure Ochre) on some off white paper and added a piece of ribbon. I popped up the flowers with some dimensional tape and added the banner.

I hope Michael and Kari like it as much as I do.
