Sending Hugs

Hi again,
I have another card to share today and I'm really happy with the finished product.
I don't use my colored pencils often enough, so I pulled them out and got to work on this card for the, Make My Monday-Make It Krafty challenge. Colored Pencils and Kraft paper always work so well together, that's why I chose to use them for this challenge.
This stamp from Simon Says is one I've had for a while, but this is the first time I've used it, I really love this stamp set. The sentiment is from the same set.  I stamped it using Altenew-permanent black ink on Kraft CS. Then using my Arteza colored pencils I colored the flowers and leaves. Then, with a Sharpie Fine tip marker I went over all the black lines to make the flowers stand out. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom left corner and the front was finished.
As I said I don't use my colored pencils enough, so I'm not an expert, but I do love how it turned out.
For the inside I just stamped one of the leaves, from the same set, in the bottom right corner and colored and outlined it. Other than the time it took to color this CAS card, it was quite simple and quick to create.

Celebrate Each Day

Hello again,
Today I'm sharing a card I made for Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge. As I said in my last blog I haven't done many sketch challenges in the past, but I have really been enjoying doing them as of late, I think I will be doing them more often.
I used one of my bestie's stamps from IO and stamped several flowers and leaves, on Canson     Watercolor Paper with Altenew Permanent Black ink.  Then using my Zig Clean Color pens I water   colored it. When they were dry I fussy cut them out and set them aside to work on the front  panel.
Using KS-Stitched Rectangles I cut the front panel, from white #110 Recollections CS, then I used Altenew-Create a Wreath dies to cut the oval. I added a piece of Altenew-Glitter Gold Washi Tape
1/2" from the bottom of panel and trimmed it off the edge of the oval. Using repositionable tape I
place the flowers where they would hang over the edge of the oval. Then I placed the front panel over my card front and marked where the flowers and leaves would be, using a pencil. I also drew a light   line around the edge of the oval, so I would know where to place my sentiment. Once this was done   I stamped the sentiment onto the front of my 41/4" x 51/2" #110 Ivory card base. Then I used some 3-M dimensional tape on the panel and adhered it to my card front. I glued the flowers down with Aleen's Tacky glue and also used 3-M tape for the parts hanging over the edge of the oval. I added some sequins and some chunky glitter around the flowers and sentiment and the front is done.
For those who have been to my blog before, you know I always bring something from the front of the card to the inside. So I added some Glitter Gold washi tape and a flower and leaf to finish.

From the Heart

Hello again crafty friends,
My card today was created using a sketch from Sunday Stampers. I don't usually make cards from sketches but I wanted to try something different and I really liked this one.
I started with Pink #110 Recollection paper for my card base. I really like this paper for card bases, it comes in lots of different colors, it's not to expensive and I can get it at Michael's, with a coupon, one hundred sheets with four different shades, or solid color packs.
Using Altenew Red Apple CS and Spellbinders Lace Hearts dies I cut a large heart. Then I used the Lacy insert and cut it from the Pink Recollections CS. This does not cut the outside of the heart out, but it leaves a indented line around the outside so I just fussy cut it on that line and glued it to the front of the red heart. Then Using one of my newest Altenew Layering sets(Always There) and some Neenah white paper I stamped several small flowers and leaves and cut them out with the matching dies. I trimmed the white edge from the leaves and flowers for my heart and adhered them to the bottom left of the heart. I left the edge for the inside. I did this because I didn't want the white edge showing on the heart, but for the inside the background is white so they blend in.
Next I cut a piece of Neenah white down to 31/2" x 5" and adhered it to the front of my card base.
I cut a piece of the Pink to 1" x 5" and wrapped it with red and white twine form American Crafts, tying a bow. I adhered this to my white panel 1/4" from the bottom.  I added a little dimension by adding a heart shaped piece of fun foam to the back of the heart and I adhered it to the right side of the white panel above the twine. Then I added my sentiment from Altenews, Dearest Friend stamp set. For the inside I cut a piece of Neenah white to 4" x 51/4" and added the flowers and leaves to the bottom right corner, and stamped 3 small hearts (Altenew: Love Letters stamp set) above the flowers.

Monochromatic Love You

Hello,
My card today is a One Layer, CAS, Monochromatic. This was a very quick and easy card to create, using Altenew Stamps and Inks and Bo Bunny stamps.
On a 41/4" x 51/2" piece of Neenah #110 white CS, I layered my flower and leaf images, in the bottom left corner, using inks from the Sea Shore Ovals set by Altenew. Then I masked the image and stamped the Music Staff. The sentiment was then stamped above the Staff.  As always, I continued the theme from the front of the card to the inside, by stamping a flower, leaves and staff.

I haven't done very many One Layer or Monochromatic cards in the past, but I like how this one turned out and may find myself creating more of these quick easy cards.
Products used:
Altenew: Watercolor Wonders stamp set
                Dearest Friend stamp set
Sea Shore Oval inks(Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon, Emerald)

All About Layering 1: Altenew AECP

I'm very excited to have been accepted as a participant in Altenew's AECP (Altenew Educator Certification Program) this week. I love all things Altenew and can't wait to become certified. It's going to take a while, but I'm  motivated.
I began the Altenew Academy a few weeks ago, with the All about Layering Class. Even though I've been using Altenew layering stamps for a few years there is always something to learn and this classis very informative. It just so happens to be one needed for AECP. So today I'm showcasing the 10 cards I created for my homework, insides too. I hope you enjoy looking.

All My Love

I just love to make Valentines Cards, so here's another one.
This little bear from Penny Black's new release is perfect for a Valentine. I love the Pink and Gray combo too.
I stamped the bear on a 41/4" x 51/2" piece of Bristol Vellum Paper using Altenew Permanent Ink.
Then using my Zig Clean Color pens I water colored the image.  Using my stitched rectangles die, I first cut out the whole panel. Then I repositioned the die and cut it again so that it was 31/2" x 33/8".  I took the smaller piece and placed it back in the die to add the stitches to the edge that was cut off.  The sentiment was then stamped on the smaller piece. After that I added fun foam to the back of both pieces and matted them both with pink. I then Adhered both pieces to the front of the card.
For the inside I stamped a sentiment also from the new release and some hearts in Pink.

Valentine

Just a quick post today. It's 6*F here in Rochester with a wind chill of -16*F, Burrr……
Par for the course in Upstate New York.
Todays card is a very quick and easy card that I created in about 30 minutes.
I started with Neenah Solar white #110 CS.  I cut 4 Heart flourishes from red CS and one from masking paper. I stacked the 4 red on top of each other and set it aside. Then I placed the mask on the front of my card positioning from top to bottom and to the right edge. Using my Make-up brushes and distress ink I shaded the area over the mask leaving white space to the left and bottom right of the mask. Then I splattered the area over the mask, leaving the top left white for my sentiment.
I removed the Mask and placed the stacked die cut over the white space left by the mask. I stamped the sentiment using my Misti and added a 1/4" piece of the red CS to the left edge for balance. I also stamped Happy Valentine's Day in the bottom right corner.
As usual for me I brought the die to the inside of the card, by placing the mask over the inside corner and shading with distress ink, and added a heart left over from the 4 I cut.

A simple quick card for my 15 year old Granddaughter, Gabby.

Bee Mine

My card today is one I made for my 9 year old Granddaughter, Evelyn. This little girl reminds me of her, she loves to wear headbands with things attached to the ends. She's a very special little girl and just like this stamp,  her smile will melt you heart.
I water colored her using my Arteza real brush pens. She was stamped first with Altenew Permanent Black ink on Strathmore Bristle vellum. I framed her with my Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangles die. I also cut a large stitched heart and a few small ones for the inside. I Used a piece of patterned paper from my Altenew 6"x 6" Reflections paper pack for the background. Then I adhered the Bee Girl to the left side and placed the pink heart to the right, just overlapping a little. I used a piece of washi tape and some foam for a flag at the bottom. I used Hero Arts heart gems on her head band and on the large heart. Then I added a little sparkle with my Spectrumnoir Sparkle pen, to her wings, the bees wings and her skirt.
On the inside I stamped the bees and added some hearts with, I heart you. I added a strip of the paper from the front and the big beautiful, Happy Valentines Day, stamp from Clearly Posh Stamps.

Pink and Gray

Hello from balmy Rochester, NY where the temperature is a whopping 6 degrees F. with a wind chill of -13 degrees F. Oh, well it's kind of what you expect this time of year in our area. It is however, the best weather for staying in and creating in my craft room.
Todays card is one I made for a friends birthday. I used Altenew's Peony Bouquet stamps and dies
and Label Love stamps. I also used Altenew's Oval Inks. I love the way pink and gray look together, it's one of my favorite combinations.

This one turned out really pretty with the soft but vibrant pinks and the light grays. I stamped the leaves and berries first and then added the large Peony with some dimensional tape. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday on white, with gray ink and adhered it to a pink strip. Using dimensional tape, I adhered the strip to the card covering just a little of the large Peony.  I then added some pink and gray splatters and some pink sequins to finish. I felt it needed a little something more, so I added a small Peony bud to the end of the strip, with dimensional tape. I matted on gray cardstock and a pink card. I also finished the inside with a sentiment from Stampendous and a small Peony bud.

I like to always bring something from the front of the card to the inside, to balance it out. I even do this with a shadow of the image on the envelope. Everything coordinates that way.
I didn't always finish my cards if I was just making it for a challenge or just playing but then I ran into the problem of what ink, paper or stamps I used when I wanted to finish it, to give to someone. I don't even know how many cards I have stored, that I made without doing this, but I won't be adding anymore to that box, because I always finish them now.
Here's a list of all the products I used:
Altenew: Peony Bouquet Stamps and dies and Label Love Stamps
Altenew Oval inks: Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubelite, Limestone, Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond and Permanent Black.
Neenah #110 white cardstock
Recollections Pink and Gray #110 cardstock
Pretty Pink Posh sequins: Sweet Pea Mix

Heartfelt Thank You

Hello crafty friends,
Happy New Year! I hope 2019 proves to be a wonderful year for everyone.
It's been a very busy 9 months. I won't bore you with details but I have neglected my blog for to long, so here goes.
Todays card is a Thank you card using Altenew's, Delicate Primrose stamp and die set. I love Primroses, they are almost always in bloom. Mine have even bloomed in mid-winter when the weather warms a bit. They are such bright and delicate little blooms and they always put a smile on my face.
This Clean and Simple card is the first I've made with this set and I love it.
First I stamped the flowers on masking paper and then used the masks to layout my pattern. I took a picture with my phone to remember the placement, then I stamped all the leaves directly on to my Neenah  card stock. I used a separate piece of card stock to stamp the flowers using Altenew inks. Then I used my Delicate Primrose dies and cut them out. I adhered the red and orange flowers directly to the card front using my Xyron, then I adhered the blue flower with dimensional adhesive.
I added a little shading of Mango Smoothie ink with my makeup brushes. I backed the 41/4" x 53/8" paper with foam and adhered to an A-2 Blue #110 card base.
I also finished the inside with a blue flower and a few leaves. I really love to incorporate something from the front of the card on the inside of the card. I think it give a nice finished look. I usually do the envelope too.

Recollections #110 card stock
